Audience measurement and download statistics (without cookies)
Scope of processing
To learn how our website is used and which of our marketing activities lead to downloads of our software, we record the following on our server when a page is opened, when a download link is clicked and when the downloaded software is started for the first time:
- the page opened or the download variant chosen, together with the date and time,
- the source from which you reached the page (referrer) and any campaign tags contained in the link (e.g. utm_source, utm_campaign) that indicate which marketing activity brought you to us,
- the browser and operating system used,
- your approximate geographic origin (country, region and, where available, city), which we derive from your IP address (see below),
- a salted, irreversible checksum (hash) of your IP address.
On its first start, Celerando sends the following to our server once: a randomly generated installation identifier, the first characters of an irreversible checksum of the device identifier, the program version, the .NET runtime used and the Windows version.
Your IP address itself is not stored for this purpose. When the request arrives it is converted into the checksum, used to derive the origin, and then discarded. The checksum serves one purpose only: to link a download with the first start of the software from the same internet connection within a two-hour window; it is deleted by a daily clean-up once it is older than 48 hours. The remaining data is analysed statistically without any reference to a person and deleted after 24 months.
No cookies are set and no identifiers are assigned that could recognise you on a later visit. Campaign tags contained in links are kept only for the duration of your visit in your browser's session storage, so that a download made later in the same session can still be attributed to the marketing activity; this storage is cleared automatically when the browser tab is closed. Apart from the link between a download and the first start of the software described above, the data is not combined with any other data and in particular not with your person.
Derivation of geographic origin (GeoIP)
To determine the approximate origin, we match your IP address against a copy of the "GeoLite2" database of MaxMind, Inc., 14 Spring Street, 3rd Floor, Waltham, MA 02451, USA, that is stored on our own server. The lookup takes place exclusively on our server; neither your IP address nor any other data is transmitted to MaxMind or to any other third party. The result of the lookup is limited to the country, the region (e.g. the federal state) and – where the database allows this with sufficient accuracy – the city, each with an accuracy radius. Determining your location at street-address level is not possible; depending on your internet provider, the actual accuracy typically ranges from a few to several hundred kilometres.
This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
Legal basis and right to object
The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis of how our website is used and how effective our marketing activities are, and in offering our software in line with regional demand. Because the IP address is immediately converted into an irreversible checksum, no cookies or recognisable identifiers are used, and the origin is determined only approximately, it is not possible to draw conclusions about your person. You have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21(1) GDPR); to do so, please use the contact details given in section 1 above.
Notification of contact requests (n8n, Telegram)
In addition to section 4 (contact), the following applies to enquiries sent via our contact form: So that we learn about new enquiries immediately, we also pass your details (name, e-mail address, phone number, subject, message and type of request, as well as the time, the language, the website the enquiry came from and the number under which we store it) to an instance of the automation software n8n that we operate ourselves. It runs on a server in Frankfurt am Main provided by Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos str., 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus), which acts as our processor. From there we receive a notification containing details of your enquiry via the messaging service Telegram. Telegram is provided by Telegram Messenger Inc. (Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands); according to Telegram, the data of users from the EEA is stored in data centres in the Netherlands. Because the provider is based outside the EU, a transfer to a third country cannot be ruled out; there is no adequacy decision of the European Commission for the British Virgin Islands. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling your enquiry quickly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
